If “skincare routine” sounds like a 10-step chore, relax. You can get 80% of the benefit with four steps and about three minutes. Here’s the beginner version for guys.
The 4 steps
- Cleanse — wash off the day. If you wear sunscreen, double cleanse (oil then foam) at night.
- Treat / calm — a soothing step for irritation or breakouts. Cica (Centella) is the easy, gentle pick.
- Moisturize — a light moisturizer so your skin isn’t tight or dry.
- Sunscreen (mornings) — the single most important step. A good Korean one won’t feel greasy.
Morning vs night
Morning: quick cleanse → moisturizer → sunscreen. Night: double cleanse → treat/calm → moisturizer. That’s it.
What to skip as a beginner
Don’t drown yourself in 8 serums on day one. Start with these four, stay consistent for a month, and add things only if you have a specific goal. (curious what essences and serums even do? here →)
